Die Konstruktion und Herstellung von Großdieselmotoren hat in Halberstadt seit 1951 Tradition. Als Schiffsdieselhersteller hat die Firma <b>VEB Maschinenbau Halberstadt (MH)</b> - ab Juli 1990 <b>Maschinenbau Halberstadt GmbH (MBH GmbH)</b> - eine Vielzahl Schiffe mit Schiffsantrieben etc. bestückt. <br> <br> In den 90er Jahren wurde das Leistungsangebot mit der Entwicklung von Diesel-Gas-Motoren erweitert. Deren Einsatz als Kraft-Wärme-Kopplungs-System ist ein effizientes, kostengünstiges und umweltfreundliches Energiesystem. <br> <br> In der Firma <b>Maschinenbau Halberstadt GmbH</b> wurde 1993 ein MHKW mit 2,5 MW zur Eigenversorgung des Unternehmens mit Strom und Wärme in Betrieb genommen, Energie wird darüber hinaus an den regionalen Stromversorger abgegeben und überschüssige Wärme an naheliegende Verbraucher. <br> <br> Die Firma <b>Maschinenbau Halberstadt GmbH</b> war Hersteller kompletter schlüsselfertiger Motorheizkraftwerke (MHKW) mit einer Leistung von 2,5 Megawatt (MW) bis zu 10 MW. Sie hat seit 1992 15 Kraftwerke in Deutschland errichtet. <br> <br> Nach zwischenzeitlicher Privatisierung wird seit dem 01.01.2002 die Traditionslinie des Halberstädter Motorenbaus von der Firma <b>Neue Maschinenbau Halberstadt GmbH (Neue MBH GmbH)</b> fortgesetzt. <br> <br> Die Leistungsschwerpunkte liegen derzeit im Kundendienst und im Service von MHKW-Anlagen sowie Schiffsantriebsanlagen mit MBH-Motoren, in der Fertigung und maschinellen Bearbeitung von Spezialbauteilen für den Maschinenbau. <br> <br> <hr> The design and production of diesel engines has tradition in Halberstadt since 1951.
